This decision was announced by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. He said that giving priority to passengers, Indian Railways has been instructed to install CCTV cameras in all 74,000 coaches and 15,000 engines
This important decision was taken after Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu reviewed the benefits of CCTV cameras installed on a pilot basis in Northern Railways.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, CCTV cameras will also be installed near the doors to ensure the privacy of passengers.
Where will the cameras be installed in the train? A total of 4 CCTV cameras will be installed in the passenger coaches. Out of which 2 cameras will be installed at the entry of each door. 6 CCTV cameras will be installed in each engine. In which one CCTV camera will be installed on both the front and back sides of an engine.
