"Traffic violators are not habitual offenders, they should be treated humanely."

Surat: Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi has directed the police not to treat any person like a criminal for violating traffic rules. Making an important statement at the Police Pride Ceremony in Surat on Sunday night, Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi said that those who break traffic rules are not guilty so they should be treated humanely.

Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi instructed all police personnel and officers during the Police Pride Ceremony in Surat and said that the police force has to work to improve the image of the police. He said that in future, arrangements should be made so that there would never be an opportunity to file a chargesheet in nine days. That kind of fear must be inside people and we will create it in the days to come. But the fear of the police is that if a traffic policeman keeps an ordinary citizen standing and does not wear a helmet, he will not behave like a criminal. As Home Minister, I also give suggestions and instructions. Every single citizen of this city is proud of you. But if even one of your small transactions goes bad, the whole police will defame Alam somewhere.
