Announced at election time

It may be recalled that Mamata Banerjee had announced the scheme ahead of the Assembly elections in March-April this year. Under this scheme, dealers will deliver rations to the homes of the beneficiaries. Not only that, the government will provide financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh each to 21,000 ration dealers in the state for purchasing vehicles to provide rations to the people.

The deadly corona virus has spread to many states in the country since the festival, while the central government has also stepped in to vaccinate. The importance of vaccination in the fight against the deadly coronavirus has increased exponentially. Madhya Pradesh has taken an important decision for those who have not been vaccinated against corona vaccine at a time when vaccine coverage needs to be increased to curb the third wave of corona.

The government has directed that foodgrains for rationing in the state should be given only to those who have been vaccinated. Grain will not be given without vaccine. This decision will be implemented from December.

The government is also running a public awareness campaign to get the vaccine. Meanwhile, after the government announced not to provide food grains, the effect is starting to show. People are reaching out to health centers to get the vaccine.
